  1. Understand the importance of creative activities for people living with dementia.

  2. Have explored some of the approaches to providing creative activities for people living with dementia.

  3. Feel confident in their ability to facilitate creative sessions using the Culture Box materials.

Who will be providing the training?

The training will be provided by the Culture Box team (including Dr Chloe Asker, Professor Victoria Tischler, and Dr Hannah Zeilig), the National Activity Providers Association, and Chris Lewis-Jones (an artist).

Will I get a qualification from this course?

On completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of attendance. The course is not accredited and will not provide you with a formal qualification. However, attendance is highly beneficial as it will provide you with evidence-based and sector-leading information regarding activity provision for dementia care.

I want to come but I can’t afford to travel, can you help me get there?

We have a limited number of travel bursaries available to anyone who needs support in order to attend. Please get in contact with us if you would like to apply for a bursary.

How can I get accommodations/adjustments for my learning needs?

Please contact us beforehand to let us know of any adjustments or accommodations that you require. We will do our best to ensure that the course is accessible to everyone who attends.

I’m interested in activity provision for everyone, not just people with dementia. Can I still attend?

Yes, we encourage you to attend! Eventhough this course is geared towards people living with dementia, the lessons from Culture Box are applicable to many other health conditions and contexts. We are excited to welcome a diverse cohort with a mixture of experiences and interests.

I still have some questions, who should I contact?

Please contact Chloe (c.asker@surrey.ac.uk) or use the contact form below. We look forward to hearing from you!
